W1# Setting sail

My letter about setting sail

Now If I was these people going from their homeland to another land that most of them don't even know about. I would feel really scared and nervous but still excited at the same time. I would feel really tired when we all get there because we need to paddle and got through the ocean thousands of miles.

  1. Hey there Kensington, great job on completing some more activities. My name is Billy and I will be blogging with you on the Summer Learning Journey this Summer.

I enjoyed reading your letter you wrote pretending to be travelling to New Zealand. Why do you think you would feel scared, nervous and excited?

You have given a great reason for why you would feel tired, well done.

    Thanks, Billy

  2. Kia ora Kensington,

My name is Emiely (pronounced “Emily”) and I work alongside Billy at the Summer Learning Journey!

I really like the way you used your imagination to step into the shoes of someone of a voyage. It's great that you have explained why you would feel the different emotions that you would. I think I would be really nervous having to travel to a new country I had little knowledge of, but at the same time, it would probably be quite exciting being the first few people in New Zealand. You would get to do so much exploring and I bet you could choose to have your home anywhere you like! This activity has asked that you write it as a letter so you could think about adding a few things to make it fit a letter structure. First you could greet the person you are writing to. For example: "Dear Sarah,". You will also need to end your letter with something like: "From your friend, Kensington".

I look forward to seeing how you add to this blog post! :)

It is great to see you have made a start to the Summer Learning Journey! I know the Summer Learning Journey team have enjoyed reading and commenting on your blog. We can't wait to see what else you will blog!

    Noho ora mai,

    Emiely :)
